Abstract
This research aims to design and build a vibrating screen machine using a crankshaft system as the primary driving mechanism to produce optimal vibrations in the material screening process based on particle size. The methods used include literature review, engineering design with structural simulation using CAD/CAE software, prototype construction, and machine performance testing. The crankshaft system was chosen because of its ability to convert the rotary motion of an electric motor into stable oscillatory motion, thereby increasing material separation efficiency. Prototype testing was conducted by measuring vibration frequency, amplitude, and material separation capability, which were then analyzed to assess the machine's performance. The results showed that the designed vibrating screen machine was able to operate effectively with vibration frequencies and amplitudes that meet screening requirements, while also increasing the capacity and quality of the final product. This research contributes to the development of more efficient and applicable vibrating screen technology, especially for small and medium-sized industries.
